Funding from Family Action

It has been a busy few weeks preparing for the school holidays. We had to say good bye to Amir who was with us for 6 months but the time flew and we are grateful for all the work that he did at Scholemoor Beacon and the skills that he brought. We are sure that he will keep in touch and maybe bring a bit of cricket magic to Scholemoor. We welcome Mario who will be with us for the next 6 months – every Step 2 person brings something to Scholemoor Beacon and to the wider community. If you have not had one of Mario’s breakfast’s on a Monday morning you need to come along.
We are grateful for some extra funding from Family Action to provide more activities throughout the summer holidays and will be providing a healthy meal with our activities as well. We want as many children and families as possible to come along. We are taking a break over the summer from Bike to the Future – but are still working with unemployed adults who might want to learn to ride or brush up on their cycling skills. Mini movers will also be taking some time off in the middle of the holidays. Lets hope the good weather and sunshine continues throughout the holidays.
We are always looking to work with local people who have good ideas and want to try something new at the centre and we are also looking for trustees who want to help the charity grow and develop – if you want to have a chat with Susan or Matt then please pop in.
